• Born in 1930, along the coast of the river Godavari, in sankaraguptam.

• He is probably the most popular Carnatic musician among vocalists. He has been very well known since he debuted at the age of six.

• He has made several original compositions that are still sung by many.

• I happen to know that he is extremely humble,polite and has a great personality, since I met him at one of his concerts and had a great conversation with him.

• Unfortunately he left this world of ours in 2016 at the age of 86.

• Awards that he has achieved are, Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and also some international awards.
