Today marks the end of the 90s era and 2000s beginning and we gotta talk about this group that rocked both.
Name:-G.O.D (Groove over dose)
Debut year:-1999
g.o.d was one of those boy groups who invented deep lyrics and every song of theirs blends really nicely in their recognizable R&B and rap style. They have also tried hip-hop and even funk.
g.o.d reached South Korea’s best selling artist to the digital era and one of the few idol groups to have more than one album become a “million-seller.”
There is always someone who starts a trend and there is always a better person who rocks the trend. Fan groups were the trend in the 90s( and even now in K-pop) So every idol group has its own fandom name, g.o.d’s fandom name is called Fan God. And they were called The Nation’s Idol and Legends of K-Pop since they have been very popular from back then and even until now due to their fandom.
They went to a hiatus in 2005 after the departure off a member from the group, due to this their fame has been limited to the domestic market and some overseas countries. Still, the legends will forever remain and their top songs, like “To Mother”, and “Road” will continue to live on, especially “One Candle”, which is considered as one of the South Korean classic songs.
