• This legend was born in 1916 and began her journey with music.

• She debuted at the age of 11 in the 100 pillar hall at Tiruchirapalli.
• She travelled all over the world doing concerts at places like, London, New York, Canada.etc. as India’s cultural ambassador.
• The people she was closest to were, her best friend Sri Ramaseva Mandali from Bengaluru and her beloved husband Kalki Sadasivam after whose death she stopped performing publicly.
• She was the first Indian to perform for UN and to receive the Bharat Ratna. These were one among her great achievements.
