Wham! were an English pop duo consisting of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, formed in London in 1980. This duo was quite popular in the United Kingdom during the 80s. Their first album was debuted in 1983 known as Fantastic which was addressed to the the United Kingdom’s unemployment problem and teen agnst over adulthood. Their second studio album Make It Big in 1984 was a worldwide pop smash hit, charting number one in both the UK and the United States. One of their popular hits and my personal favourite is last Christmas had recieved a wonderful response. The song reached No. 1 in Denmark, Slovenia and Sweden and No. 2 in eight countries; Belgium, Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, New Zealand and United Kingdom. Wham! donated all of their royalties to the Ethiopian famine. It was the best played song during the Christmas in the 21st century. Another hit if theirs was Careless whisper. This song was a huge comercial world wide selling 6million copies worldwide and 2 million in USA. The song consist of prominent saxophone riff and has been covered by a no of artists since the first release.
