BoDeans is an American rock band. Formed in Waukesha, Wisconsin, BoDeans came to prominence in 1980s.

The band’s sound encompasses multiple rock genres, including roots rock, heartland rock, and alternative rock.

They are best known for their catchy single “Closer to Free,” the BoDeans won over a huge Midwestern following in the late 1980s and early ’90s with their accessible adult alternative sound.
