DIANA ROSS

Diana Ross was born in 1944 in the state of Michigan. She was a singer, an actress and a record producer. She was the lead singer of the vocal group THE SUPREME (1959-1970). Yes, yes I know! She’s a pop singer, what’s she doing under the jazz column? It’s because Ross was also into R&B -rhythm and blues which is a genre similar to jazz 🎷.

The supreme became the best charting female group in the US history and the world’s best selling girl groups of all time (#GIRLPOWERR✨❤). Their singles were record setting on the US Billboard Hot 100s. Despite this humongous success, Diana left the supremes in the 70s and started focusing on her solo career and she managed to be successful in it too! .

Her R&B works include love hangover,im coming out, missing you, muscles and her duet with Lionel Richie – Endless love was a massive hit. She married Robert Ellis Silberstein in 1971and divorced him in 1977 and in 1986 she married Arne Næss Jr and divorced him in 2002. This living legend was crowned the female entertainer of the century!
