• Officially known as Pandit Bhimsen Gururaj Joshi, he was born in 1922.

•He is an Indian vocalist from the state of Karnataka and was mainly known for the khayal genre of singing in Hindustani music.

• Gaining fame since the age of 19, Bhimsen Joshi was at the best of his career during the 80’s.

• He has done even a couple of bollywood songs but is mainly known for his classical songs. Sadly , we lost him due to multiple health issues in the year 2011.
