LOUIS ARMSTRONG.

1980-1990s jazz music is incomplete without this man , I personally feel his music is super underrated. Louis Armstrong aka satchmo aka pops ❤. Those of y’all know him consider yourselves lucky because this man is a true legend. His reign was pretty successful.

Armstrong was born in the year 1901 and was raised in New Orleans. Coming to prominence in the 1920s as an inventive trumpet and cornet player, Armstrong was a foundational influence in jazz, shifting the focus of the music from collective improvisation to solo performance. Around 1922, he followed his mentor, Joe King to Chicago to play in the Creole Jazz Band.

Creating this blog post honestly is an excuse for me to listen to his music😂. My personal favorites include ‘Hello Dolly’,’ what a wonderful world’ and ‘down by the Riverside’ little did I know that I’d be addicted to an 80s jazz artist.

He received a lifetime achievement award and received plenty of Grammys too. And now a bit about his personal life (GOSS!!) He was married to a prostitute named Daisy Parker in 1919 and divorced her in 1923, he then married Lillian Hardin in 1924 and divorced her in 1938 , he married Alpha Smith in 1938 and divorced her in 1942 and then FINALLY he married Lucille Wilson in 1942(quite the ladies man I must say 😉) . Despite marrying so many women he never fathered a child with any of his wives ☹️. He died in the year 1971 , but his music still works it’s magic 50 years later .✨❤
